A house outside Oslo that knows exactly what it is
Sixty square metres, one long window, and a family who resisted every temptation to build more.

The plot came with a view they did not want to compete with, so they built low and long and let the room end in glass.
Inside: painted floorboards, one large table, a wood stove that does most of the work in February. The kitchen is three metres of steel and nothing on the walls.
"We spent the money on the window and the roof," she says. "Everything else can wait, and mostly it has."
